Hot Air

The following workshops and events are available to support Hot Air at the Tobacco Factory Theatre (25th July to 10th August 2013):

Fiesta: A workshop that theatrically explores the relevance of Hot Air for young people who are in difficult circumstances (in care, young carers, young parents) aged 13 -19 (Tuesday 30th July 10am to 4pm)

Up: A creative performance workshop for young people aged 12-19 years with learning disabilities. This workshop precedes a relaxed matinee performance – a performance that is slightly adapted to ensure a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere for people with a learning disability together with their families and friends. (Thursday 1st August 10.30am to 12.30pm)

I Can Fly: An acting workshop for children aged 6-9 years (Wednesday 31st July 10am to 12.30pm) and children aged 9-12 years (Wednesday 7th August 10am to 12.30pm)

Singing in the Clouds: Creative dance and music workshops for 2 to 5 year olds and their carers (Monday 5th August, 9.45am to 10.30am OR 11am to 11.45am)

Activities focused on ballooning practice and heritage

(Suitable for adults)

A series of talks, exhibitions and interactive opportunities exploring the practice and heritage of hot air ballooning.

Are they going up?: A sharing of fiesta memories with the general public (Saturday 3rd August, after the matinee performance of Hot Air)

Fancy a Whizzer?: A chance for hot air balloon pilots to share their stories with the general public. (Wednesday 7th August, after the evening performance of Hot Air)

Sport of the Gods: Don Cameron, ‘the father of hot air ballooning’, talks about his life (Monday 29th July, 6pm, £2 in support of Children’s Hospice South West)

The British Balloon Museum: An exhibition of balloon artefacts and memorabilia. The Foyer Bar, Tobacco Factory Theatre (25th July to 10th August)
